TVMeredith MacKenzie and the Uruk Empire Take 3Right now, I'm working on the third draft of my second novel, Meredith MacKenzie and the Uruk Empire. I've finished 8 chapters, which works out to around 26K words, about 20K of which is new material. Pretty much the entire front half of the novel is being rewritten, while the back half will remain pretty much intact, though some of the subplots will get a bit more emphasis than before. I'm actually enjoying reworking the story, but I'm running up against a problem a lot of part time writers have. Lack of freaking time.
Day Break is back.ABC finally got off it's rear end (where it apparently stores its head) and started posting episodes of the absolutely fantastic Time Loop Cop Drama Day Break on their website. Right now, the first ten episodes are available. They're suppose to post one every Monday for the next three weeks.
73540 words, a new project and a passing.Meredith Mackenzie and the Uruk Empire is just chugging right along. As the title of this post suggests, I've hit 73,540 words. Not bad for a month and a half, all things considered. I also wrote a big scene today. I think it turned out well, but I'll be damned if it wasn't draining. Tomorrow, I get to start with a short bridge scene, then it's on to another big scene. After that, it's almost pure carnage for a good 20K plus words. Then the big wrap up. Unfortunately, I might not have a lot of time to write over the course of the next week.
The Adventures of Superboob.Yeah, yeah, everyone's talking about it. Frankly, if Janet Jackson wants to flash her tit on national television, more power to her. I just don't give a damn. Today, Katherine and I were talking about stuff, and the conversation drifted to the movie "Chariots of Fire". I've never seen it. I think I was about six when it came out. She mentioned having to get a permission slip from her parents before her catholic school class went.
General Status Check1). Homefront is at 98,259. I'll most likely break 100,000 words today or tomorrow. So far, during the holidays, I've written 20,513 words. Not as much as I'd hoped to do, but satisfying enough. 2). I've decided to call the 'What Rough Beast' series 'Soft Rains'. A thousand quatlous to anyone who gets the references. Katherine, you can't play, cause I know you'll get at least one of them. The outline (very rough outline) stands at 1212 words and lays out a total of twelve novels. I've even got them divided by what I think will make nice Omnibus titles.
Woh.Just finished my second viewing of the new Battlestar Galactica Miniseries. Love the new Starbuck. Love the new Baltar. Love number Six. Wasn't annoyed to hell and back by Boxey. Edward James Olmos is a god. I WANT MORE! Cause it kicked ass.
