Apparently, I can use the new MacBook's built in webcam and the handy-dandy iMovie to record videos.

This is a really neat function.

1). Apple Pages files and Subversion do not mix. Ever.
2). Figure out how to change default text editor from VI to ANYTHING ELSE. I'm thinking Pico, I like Pico.
3). Subversion is your friend. Except when you try to use it with a Pages file. Then it becomes your enemy, and you must drive a wooden stake through the heart of the Pages file in order to get it to love you again.

I ordered a new MacBook a few days ago. Along with it, I ordered a new iPod, a copy of VMWare Fusion, and an iPod extended warranty. I get home today, and what do I find on my porch?

If you guessed the iPod and the copy of VMWare, you win a virtual teddy bear. So, the iPod and the software aren't valuable enough to require a signature, but the extended warranty package, which is a box with a post card in it, I have to go pick up at the FedEx depot, because that can't be left without a signature.

Some days, you kinda wish you'd stood in bed.

Got up way to early. Went the long way around on the way to school because the radio said the short way was closed due to someone creaming a pedestrian. By the time we got to the place, via the long way, that way suppose to be closed, the whole thing was cleared up. Knowing Atlanta traffic radio, it was probably cleared up by the time we heard the announcement. Feh. Feh I say.

I made a truly miserable showing in German class today. I swear the more I try to memorize, the less I can remember. Also, adjectives. Not my friend.

New Laptop.

So, Wednesday morning, after I got back from taking Katherine to work, I ordered a new laptop (tax refund good) so I would have one for school. Apple shipped it within two hours, and it was at my door in forty-nine hours, despite the fact that I ordered a custom configuration. I had to go pick it up at the FedEx office, cause the FedEx guy didn't ring the door bell.

Anyway, I'm now the proud owner of a 12.1 inch Powerbook G4 with Superdrive. Yeah me.

Of course, the best part is, the battery works, which is good, cause I'm typing this in the middle of a blackout.

The girl has some life left in her yet.

Okay, now that I've finished hyperventilating, I tried a new power cord. Turns out, the power cord was toast. Venus (my laptop) is still not a hundred percent. Her power port is wonky. On the other hand, I'm in better shape than I thought I was.

If she can just hold out for another month, I'll be happy.

is dead.

I don't know when it will be fixed. I don't know if it can be fixed. I just know I feel like I've been kicked in the teeth.

Given my current financial situation, there's no way I can afford a replacement. Even with educational pricing, an iBook's going to run more than $1,100 bucks for the bottom of the barrel low end machines.

Ugh.
