Sales

Apparently, I'm what they give out to hook people.

Webscriptions has put up the samples for The Best of Jim Baen's Universe. Since I've got the second spot in the collection, my story is one of the samples. (If you want to read it, click here, then click the link for Chapter 3 in the upper left).

I've got a book on Amazon.

Okay, so I'm not the sole author, but I do have a story in there, which is why I'm pleased to announce that The Best of Jim Baen's Universe, which contains my story "The Girl With The Killer Eyes", is now available for preorder from Amazon.com.

Sale Number Two

I just sold the short story "The Girl With The Killer Eyes" to Jim Baen's Universe. It is, very tentatively, scheduled to come out in their December issue. Since it's my first professional fiction sale, it will appear in one of their 'introducing' slots, which means I get the princely sum six cents a word (hence it being a pro sale, because SFWA considers anything over five cents a word pro rates).

Today, I am a published writer!

I just received my first contract. It's for a non-fiction article which will appear in Jim Baen's Universe magazine. I'm not entirely sure what issue, but likely the first or second. The pay rate was a bit more than I was expecting too.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to be off in the corner being happy.
