That whole new year's thangOkay, so I said a year ago I wanted to finish my novel this year and get published. Well, I did neither. But it isn't from a lack of trying. I am, as of this moment, at 88,157 words. That's a whole lot of words. Over 500 pages of them (and that doesn't count time spent revising shit that wasn't working and all the stuff I've ended up tossing on the scrap heap). As for getting published, it was kind of predicated on me finishing stuff. Well, I've got one story in circulation at the moment (same one I had in cir last year). This year, my new years resolutions are as follows. 1). Finish Homefront. 2). Submit Homefront to the Baen slush pile (unless I can find a way to skip the slush readers and get it straight into the hands of an editor). 3). Keep my GPA up. I really want to keep that 4.0, but I'll me satisfied if I graduate with High Honors, Deans List, and Phi Theta Kappa. 4). 65K words or more, exclusive of notes and setting material, on 'What Rough Beast'. 5). Outline the story arc for the 'What Rough Beast' series. 6). Come up with a title for the 'Homefront' series (at this point, I'm thinking 'Warfront') 7). Come up with a title for the 'What Rough Beast' series that doesn't give away the entire story arc. 8). Do at least an arc synopsis for the M.M. series. 9) Don't come up with any more freaking series. 10) Keep brain from exploding cause of all the freaking series.
