Archangel Protocol

The Archangel Protocol by Lyda Morehouse.

Katherine's been after me to read this for a while, and I've been putting her off because I've been extremely busy. Between working on rewrites, and teaching classes this summer, trying to take time out to do some recreational reading has been pretty low on the list.

I gotta say, I wish I hadn't put it off so long. I normally don't like cyberpunk, but this this was actually very cool.

The main character, a private detective who's had her access to cyberspace cut off, is hired to prove that the "LINK-angels", angels which appear only in cyberspace, are a fake. I don't want to go into to many details about the plot, because it would spoil a lot of the surprises along the way, but I will say the books is well worth the read.

I'm a bit of a sucker for alternate takes on Christian mythology, which this book has in spades. It also has an interesting take on what a theocracy might look like in the future.

They only real complaint I had is that I figure out the big mystery fairly early on, but considering how fun the ride was, I'm willing to give it a pass on that point.

Unfortunately, this book and its three sequels are all out of print, but if you look around, you can still find them.

If you get a chance, dig them up.

I told you so!

Neener, neener! Go read the other ones! ;)
