So, it's been a while since I posted anything here. That's bad. On the other hand, I have been extremely busy.

First, I heard back from an agent a while back. She said she really liked Meredith, but that unfortunately, she didn't think it would sell in it's current form, and gave me a few suggestions on how to fix the problems. Then offered to reread it if I revised it.

So, I've spent the last few weeks busting my butt working on a complete rewrite of Meredith Mackenzie and the Uruk Empire. So far, I'm about 27K words into the revisions, and I'm liking what I'm it much, much better than the previous versions of the book. It's far more action oriented, and just a far more involving story at this point than it was in the previous drafts. This is a good thing.

At some point in the next day or so, I need to bang out a new version of Chapter 9, which will bear no resemblance what so ever to the old Chapter 9. I think by the time I get done, I'll have somewhere in the neighborhood of 50K plus words of new material for the third draft.

I also think this experience is going to be a major help in terms of learning how to structure my work.

Anyway, with luck, I'm hoping I'll be done by the end of August, or the middle of September at the latest, but we'll see.
