Five weeks in and hating it.

When I arrived in chemistry lab this morning, I was a week behind. When I left this afternoon, I was three weeks behind. Yes, you read that right. I managed to not only not finish last week's work. I managed to destroy a previous week's work. Behold my clumsiness and dispair.

The experiment involved using a Silver Nitrate reagent to extract a silver chloride percipitate from an unknown chloride compound in order to determine the percentage of chloride in the compound. I managed to get my precipitate just fine, but then we had to filter it in our crucibles, dry it and weigh it. I got up to the filtering part. I filtered sample one just fine, but as I was taking the second crucible off the suction flask, it slipped the tongs. Silver chloride went everywhere and the crucible broke into four pieces.

In my defense, only an idiot would let me work in glass and ceramic.

Bleh. You know you're having a bad run when the TA says "Man, this just isn't your semester. Why don't you go take a walk in the hall and kick the wall or something."

This is why I'm not a chemistry major. Because chemistry sucks.
