I should be in bed.I'm not, but I should be. I'm making progress on Homefront. Of a sort, anyway. Frankly, I'm hating this battle. I want to get it over with. I want to finish the book. I'm probably going to end up rewriting the damn thing because of that, which is more time spent on this one instead of working on the next one. Also, I'm having my doubts as to what I want to work on next. I'd been planning to tackle What Rough Beast, but I'm wondering if I should instead go for M. M. or The Noble Lie. Heck, I could even attack S.H.G.N.C. Of course, I'd have to learn the style requirements for a graphic novel, and it would leave me without another novel to immediately throw at the publisher I submit Homefront to first if they buy it. Okay, S.H.G.N.C. is out but that still leaves What Rough Beast, M.M. and The Noble Lie. Of all of them, I think The Noble Lie is probably the most commercial. M.M., much fun as it is going to be to write, is not the kind of thing to launch a career. Nor is it something I feel confident enough to tackle without at least one more novel under my belt. It's the kind of thing that is all in the execution. Maybe it's not that What Rough Beast is less commercial that that it doesn't quite fit the same publisher as my other books. Of course, that assumes that the publisher I want to take my books actually takes my books, and even then, it's his decision of WRB fits his line or not. Maybe I'll just flip a freaking coin when I finish Homefront. Or roll a die. Anyone know where I can find a three sided die?
