It's Agent Jodi Adan's first day on the job at the Atlanta office of the Federal Bureau of Superhuman Investigation and she's in for more than a few surprises.

"The Girl With The Killer Eyes" was originally written as the first chapter of my novel We're Here to Help. When I got done with it though, I thought it worked as a stand alone story, so I submitted it to Jim Baen's Universe. The editors apparently agreed with me, because it ended up in Issue 4 (December 2006) and made it into the upcoming The Best of Jim Baen's Universe 2006 anthology.
